Meram opened the scoring in the 23rd minute for the Crew (7-8-9), and Finlay gave Columbus a 2-0 lead 10 minutes later.

Gyasi Zardes closed the gap to 2-1 for the Galaxy (9-5-7) in the 49th minute. Zardes has nine goals in his last 10 games.

But Ben Speas added a third goal for the Crew in the 75th minute, and Giancarlo Gonzalez capped the scoring in the 84th minute with his first goal in 16 MLS games this season.
