GALAXY AT SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES

When: 7:30 p.m. PDT Wednesday.

Where: Avaya Stadium, San Jose.

Update: Just four days after dropping a 3-1 MLS game to the Earthquakes, the Galaxy gets another shot at San Jose, this time in the fifth round of the U.S. Open Cup tournament. With a win, Los Angeles would advance to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2011. To do so, however, the Galaxy will have to snap a 16-match winless streak on the road, while the Earthquakes have won five straight at home. In Saturday’s match, Juninho scored for the third straight game, tying him with Gyasi Zardes and Alan Gordon as the Galaxy’s leading scorer. For San Jose, Chris Wondolowski is second in the MLS with nine goals.
