Paris Saint-Germain to hold youth soccer camps in California

French soccer giant Paris Saint-Germain will open its 2016 summer youth camp in California on Monday, with more than 350 boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 14 expected to take part.

Sessions will be held over the next three weeks at seven locations: Ventura, Chino, Playa Vista, Fresno, Irvine, Santa Monica and Hollywood.

The Southern California classes will be led by Sacha Lizambard, who trained at Paris Saint-Germain and was appointed head coach at the PSG academy three years ago. In addition, Unai Emery, PSG’s new first-team coach, and some of his players will put in an appearance at the Playa Vista camp July 25 during the team’s first U.S. summer tour.

PSG will play English Premier League champion Leicester City in a July 30 friendly at the StubHub Center.

The academy’s California schedule: Ventura and Irvine, July 11-15; Chino and Santa Monica, July 18-22; Playa Vista and Hollywood, July 25-29; Fresno, Aug. 2-4.
