Thursday’s bowl game

Idaho Potato: Idaho (8-4) vs. Colorado State (7-5), at Boise, Id., 4 p.m., ESPN — Older brother Bobby has been making headlines as a coach for years – winning at Louisville, getting caught with a mistress at Arkansas, and coming back to win at Louisville again. Meantime, Paul Petrino has been toiling in the relative obscurity of Moscow, Idaho. When Paul took over before the 2013 season, the Vandals had won three games in two years. In his first two seasons as coach, he was worse: 2-21. But Idaho was 4-8 last year and comes into this game on a four-game winning streak. The Vandals will have their hands full with a Colorado State offense that has averaged 45.4 points in its last five games. The pick: Colorado State, 38-20.
