Athletics take tarps off as Josh Reddick tweaks Oakland fans
With the Oakland Athletics on the verge of clinching their second consecutive American League West championship, the bandwagon is filling up fast.
Or not.
The A’s returned home Monday after a weekend sweep of the second-place Texas Rangers. The A’s sold 14,629 tickets to Monday’s game against the Angels.
In a Twitter conversation Tuesday, A’s outfielder Josh Reddick and a friend joked about the number of people suddenly interested in free tickets. Casey Pratt, who works for CSN Bay Area, chimed in.
@CaseyPrattCSN @TonyTwo_Tone especially when our stadium can’t even come close to a sell out on our last homestand. #fansupport — Josh Reddick (@joshreddick16) September 17, 2013
There must be some fan support, since the Athletics put third-deck tickets on sale Tuesday for the division series. The A’s keep the third deck of the Oakland Coliseum tarped off during the regular season and did so during last year’s division series, although they had promised to remove the tarps had they advanced to the AL championship series.
