Clippers’ J.J. Redick and Reggie Bullock will play against Utah Jazz
Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said that J.J. Redick will start at shooting guard Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz and that rookie guard Reggie Bullock also will play at Staples Center.
Redick missed the first six exhibition games recovering from a partially torn left quad muscle and Bullock sat out with an injured right knee.
“[Redick] had two really good days of practice, probably did more than we thought,” Rivers said before the game. “Going into practice, they said he would only go about half and he went through the entire session. And they were both very competitive sessions.”
Rivers said that Matt Barnes can’t play because of a sore left calf. Rivers said Barnes will try to practice Thursday and play Friday night against the Sacramento Kings.
Rivers said if Barnes can’t practice Thursday, that they will wait until this weekend practice sessions and hope that the 6-foot-7 small forward will be available to play in the season opener against the Lakers Tuesday night.
