Jamal Crawford missed a three-point shot with 2.3 seconds left as the Clippers had a franchise-record 13-game home winning streak end with a 104-101 loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday afternoon at Staples Center.
The defeat ended a three-game winning streak overall and left the Clippers 18-3 at home this season. Orlando snapped a 10-game losing streak.Crawford had given the Clippers an eight-point lead, 95-87, with five minutes left in the fourth quarter, but the Magic scored eight unanswered points in less than two minutes to tie the score and turn momentum in its favor.
The reserve guard had given the Clippers a 99-97 lead with 2:42 left on a jumper, but J.J. Redick scored on a driving layup and a three-pointer to put Orlando ahead, 102-99, with 42 seconds to play. After Chris Paul answered with a jumper to draw the Clippers to within one point, Nikola Vucevic scored on a dunk for Orlando's margin of victory.
Arron Afflalo led the Magic with 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting, seven rebounds and seven assists. Redick added 21 points while Vucevic finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Blake Griffin, who was one of six Clippers in double figures, made 15 of 22 shots to finish with 30 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Chris Paul had 10 points, 16 assists and four steals, while Crawford had 13 points.
Both teams shot well from the field, with the Clippers making 43 of 88 shots (48.9%) and the Magic making 39 of 81 (48.1%).
The big difference in the game was three-point and free-throw shooting. The Clippers made nine of 22 shots (40.9%) from behind the arc but attempted only six free throws, making them all. The Magic made 11 of 25 shots (44.7%) from long range and 15 of 19 from the line.
