The last time the Clippers went on the road they lost the first two games, at Orlando and at Miami, before winning at Houston.

That didn’t sit well with the Clippers, especially the opening loss against the Magic.

Now they face a two-game trip, to Minneapolis to play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night and to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder on Thursday night.

Forward Blake Griffin said that, on the previous trip, the Clippers could deal with losing to the two-time NBA champion Heat but the loss to the Magic was bothersome.

The Clippers did salvage the three-game trip by winning at Houston against the Rockets.

The Clippers will have another opportunity to see what they are made of on the road, where they are 2-3 this season.

“Obviously with this road trip coming up, it’s a challenge,” Griffin said. “We have to be mentally tough and this is the time that our mental has to go up physically. We’ve been able to rise to the occasion sometimes and this is a big step for us mentally.”
