Clippers will have to deal with loud Warriors fans in playoffs
During the regular season, the Clippers haven’t had much success against the Golden State Warriors in Oakland, having lost their last five consecutive games at Oracle Arena.
Now the Clippers will be back in Oakland on Thursday for Game 3 of the Western Conference first-round playoff series knowing they need to win at least one of the two games there -- Game 4 is Sunday -- to get home-court advantage back.
The best-of-seven series is tied at 1-1.
“It’s going to be exciting,” the Clippers’ Blake Griffin said. “I think every basketball player loves playing in environments like that. I think we’re looking forward to it.”
The Warriors are known to have some of the loudest fans in the NBA. Some of their opponents have said it gets so loud inside Oracle Arena that it feels like the building is shaking.
The Clippers, who have lost 15 of their last 17 games in Oakland, will have to deal with that.
“We’ve played in places that are pretty loud,” Griffin said. “Memphis is a pretty loud place, especially in the playoffs. But I’ve heard good things about this crowd [in Oakland]. So we’re looking forward to it, absolutely.”
