Danica Patrick a NASCAR buckle bunny?
Danica Patrick and buckle bunny in the same sentence? That’ll catch the eye.
In an exclusive interview with the popular NASCAR driver, Fox Sports’ Lee Spencer chronicles why Patrick was dressed in a western outfit, complete with a fancy belt buckle, at Texas Motor Speedway this week.
It’s quite an interesting tale. Evidently Patrick’s new boyfriend, fellow Sprint Cup Series rookie driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., wanted to know how to become more popular on Twitter. Since Patrick has nearly a million followers, he asked her for guidance last year.
“I said, ‘If I help you with that can I have a belt buckle?’ ” Patrick told Spencer of her agreement with Stenhouse, who is known for wearing cowboy outfits.
This reporter was sent to the Online Slang Dictionary when Spencer opened her article with, “What’s it take to become a NASCAR buckle bunny?” The slang terminology describes a buckle bunny as a groupie of a rodeo cowboy.
So it appears Patrick might be the first NASCAR buckle bunny. Couldn’t find that slang meaning anywhere online.
