Green Bay Packers receiver Donald Driver retired last week after a 14-season career with the team. A player beloved by many, Driver made sure one Packers fan got a personal goodbye from him.
Angie LeRoy, 78, was featured on a newscast in the Green Bay area on Wednesday. She has rooted for the Packers for about 50 years, and Driver was her favorite player. A cancer survivor, she decorated the outside of her home with a poster wishing Driver a fond farewell and thanking him for his years with the team. She said she wished she had had a chance to meet Driver.
The next day, Driver made that wish come true. He surprised her at her home and spent a few minutes talking to her.
As you can see in the video above, the visit was a thrill for LeRoy, and Driver seemed to really enjoy it too.
All in all, a great video of an athlete giving a little something back to a loyal fan.
