Eric Decker adds plenty to the mix with New York Jets

Eric Decker is a perfect fit for the New York Jets.

The wide receiver has a country-music-star wife, Jessie James, who loves posting photos of herself (and him) on social media. The couple recently appeared in GQ magazine and have their own reality show and a baby on the way.

What part of the above paragraph doesn’t scream “New York Jets”?

As for Decker’s on-the-field fit with the team, well, it’s tough to tell.

He’s coming off back-to-back seasons with 1,000-plus yards, including last year’s 87 catches for 1,288 yards, both career highs, with the Denver Broncos.

Of course, those numbers came with future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning throwing the ball and while splitting the field with No. 1 receiver Demaryius Thomas.

In New York he will likely be the top target for second-year quarterback Geno Smith, who didn’t have a receiver catch for even half the yardage Decker posted last season.

In other words, we’re about to find out whether or not Decker is a legitimate No. 1 receiver.

Whether things go good or bad, it should definitely be interesting.
