Watch ESPN’s Heather Cox get mad after interview is cut short

The post-game on-field interview with the winning coach is a tradition on television. Who doesn’t love watching a reporter chase down a coach and ask “How does it feel?” after a victory. But ESPN’s Heather Cox ran into some difficulty after Stanford’s 20-14 win over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl.

As you can see in the video above, Cox finds Stanford Coach David Shaw, who seems strangely distracted while Cox attempts to interview him.

Shaw attempts to walk away a few times before finally answering a question. Then he is whisked away, leaving Cox to mutter, “Are you kidding?”

Turns out someone on field was trying to get Shaw over to the trophy ceremony without realizing that as the television rights holder, ESPN is supposed to be guaranteed an on-field interview with the winning coach.

Are you kidding? It’s never a good idea to irritate ESPN.

There was a happy ending however, as Cox landed an interview with Shaw after the trophy ceremony ended.
