The Galaxy and team owner AEG plan to install a new video board at StubHub Center as part of a $15-million investment in the Carson complex announced Thursday.

At 5,100 square feet, the LED video board would be the largest in Major League Soccer and located above the grass berm behind the north goal and grandstands, the Galaxy said.

The board is expected to be in place by the start of the 2015 season, the Galaxy said.

Under the investment program, the Galaxy also plans to install dedicated locker rooms and training facilities for its second-tier LA Galaxy II pro team and for its Galaxy Academy for promising young players.

“These innovations place the Galaxy at the forefront of player development and fan experience,” Galaxy President Christ Klein said in a statement.

The 27,000-seat StubHub Center, located next to Cal State Dominguez Hills, opened in 2003.
