Looks like Gareth Bale is heading to Real Madrid after all.

The Spanish daily AS is reporting that an oral agreement has been reached on a $159-million deal that would send the English Premier League’s player of the year from Tottenham to Real Madrid, although neither side will confirm the accord.

And the deal could involve more than just money, with two players from a group that includes left back Fabio Coentrao, winger Angel Di Maria, midfielder Luka Modric and striker Alvaro Morata moving from Madrid to Tottenham as well.

The negotiations over the transfer have been tense, AS wrote on its website, and a few details still need to be worked out. Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy, who handled the negotiations with Real Madrid, said he needs a few more days to complete the signing of two or three new players to complete the Spurs squad for next season. The first to arrive will be Valencia forward Roberto Soldado, whose move to the club was confirmed on Thursday morning.

Levy is also interested in Liverpool’s Luis Suárez. Once Tottenham has completed signing its summer arrivals, Bale’s move to Real Madrid will be confirmed.

Real Madrid, which has been training at UCLA this week, was to play the Galaxy on Thursday in Phoenix in the International Champions Cup before returning to Los Angeles and a match Saturday at Dodger Stadium.
