Greg Norman withdraws from Humana Challenge golf tournament
Hall of Fame golfer Greg Norman, 58, withrew Tuesday from the Humana Challenge Golf Tournament scheduled for Jan. 13-19 because of a knee injury.
The two-time British Open winner is meeting with orthopedic surgeon James Bradley in Pittsburgh early next week. He’s had knee and shoulder surgeries performed by Bradley in the past.
“Early next week, I will be evaluating Greg’s right knee to determine the extent of a persistent, ongoing injury and establish an appropriate treatment plan,” Dr. Bradley said.
“I was very excited about competing in the Humana Challenge and supporting the Clinton Foundation and my corporate partners, and I’m extremely disappointed that my condition has forced me to withdraw from the event,” Norman said in a statement.
Norman last played in the event in 2012 when he was paired with President Clinton in the pro-am.
