Jacoby Jones discusses Week 6 on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

The Times has Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones guest-blogging while he competes on “Dancing With the Stars.” Each week while he competes on the show, Jones will answer a few questions from Sports Now editor Houston Mitchell and give some insight into the competition. Here are Jones’ thoughts about Week 6, which he offered via email.

Q. You had to learn two dances this week, a solo dance and a team dance. So, the basic question is: Do you get any sleep at all?

Not at all. I run into people all the time and they ask, “So how often do you practice, two or three days a week?” No, try seven days a week. Learning those dances is no joke.

Q. Will you be able to take a break from rehearsal this week to see who the Ravens draft on Thursday and Friday?

I am very interested to see what new additions we are going to make to the team. I think I may sneak away for a little while to see what’s going on.

Q. How cool was it to meet a music legend like Stevie Wonder?

It was a honor to meet Stevie. He’s a great talent and a music legend. Moms and I jam to Stevie all the time, so it was really cool.

Q. Looks like your mom was about ready to put Len in his place. I’m guessing your mom is the last person Len would want to tangle with?

That’s my momma for you, ha. But she loves Len. He’s always talking about my pigeon toes and that’s one thing that’s not going to change. I’m going to keep trying.

Q. You had a special guest this week, a cancer survivor named Dylan. Tell us a little about him.

I met him in 2008, when he had brain cancer. Now he’s 16, strong, and healthy. It’s really been a blessing how far he has come along, that’s my guy. I also want to thank Jim and Kate Lykes for making it possible for Dylan to attend.
