Much like the seafood he was eating, Jameis Winston appeared to be cracking himself up after being selected as the NFL draft's No. 1 overall pick Thursday night.

Not long after news broke of the selection by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the former quarterback of the Florida State Seminoles posted a picture to social media of himself dining on crab legs with the caption: “Thanks Capt for the crab legs.”

As of Friday morning, the photo appeared to have been removed from Winston's Instagram account, although a tweet with the same caption and a no-longer-functional Instagram link still appeared on his Twitter feed.

Winston found himself in the middle of numerous controversies while he was a college athlete, including being accused of shoplifting crab legs from a supermarket.

Numerous Internet memes and jokes were made about the crab legs situation.

During the media session at the NFL combine, Winston said he had made mistakes in the past, but was ready to move forward and earn trust.

Still, it appears Winston couldn't pass on one last pot shot at his critics.
