Jerry Remy, who played for the Angels from 1975-77 and with Boston from 1978-84, has been battling lung cancer but has continued to work as a TV analyst for Red Sox games.

In 2009, Jared Remy and a second member of the Red Sox security staff were implicated in steroid use, which led Major League Baseball to investigate whether anyone on the team was using performance-enhancing drugs.

Remy and the second man were fired by the Red Sox and MLB did not find evidence of PED use among Red Sox players.
