Chantal Sutherland, who became the first female jockey to win the Santa Anita Handicap last year aboard Game On Dude, has decided to retire from racing, her talent manager, Angie Stevens, said Sunday.

Her final two mounts will take place Sunday at Woodbine in Toronto.

“She wants a break and to explore other options,” Stevens said.

Sutherland, 36, also became the first female jockey to win the Hollywood Gold Cup this year, on board Game On Dude.

Earlier this month she received a five-day suspension from Woodbine stewards for allegedly failing a Breathalyzer test.
