Joe Flacco helps Ravens create salary-cap space with a three-year extension
Joe Flacco wasn’t leaving any time soon anyway. But now it looks like he’ll be hanging around in Baltimore for even longer.
The veteran quarterback agreed to a three-year extension with the Ravens on Wednesday, according to multiple media reports.
The deal is worth $66.4 million, with $44 million guaranteed, according to CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora.
The Super Bowl XLVII MVP signed a six-year, $120.6-million contract before the 2013 season. The new one runs through the 2021 season.
Under the old deal, Flacco would have counted $28.55 million against the Ravens’ salary cap. Baltimore was less than $3 million under the cap at the start of the day, with free agency a week away.
