Kevin Durant clears up tattoo misspelling controversy
Kevin Durant’s newest tattoo caused a stir -- and it’s not because it practically covers his entire back.
People thought a word was misspelled.
The tattoo says, “Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.”
Only in the image that Durant posted on Instagram, the word “mature” appears as though it’s spelled “mautre.”
Durant heard about the controversy and silenced his critics by posting another Instagram photo on Wednesday, showing a close-up view of the word “mature,” which indeed is spelled correctly.
“I got mature spelled the right way lol,” he wrote.
It’s not clear whether the word was actually misspelled in the initial photo and he got the tattoo fixed, or if the first photo was just distorted.
