Luis Suarez biting ban: Will he learn? Were bite marks Photoshopped?

FIFA has suspended Uruguay striker Luis Suarez for nine matches and banned him from all soccer-related activity for four months after he was accused of biting Italy defender Georgio Chiellini during a World Cup match.

Uruguay's Luis Suarez allegedly bit Italy's Giorgio Chiellini in the 80th minute of Tuesday's match. And Thursday morning he got the temporary boot from FIFA's disciplinary committee, which castigated him, saying: "Such behavior cannot be tolerated."

As your mom would say: No biting, Luis!

There's evidence that Suarez is a serial biter, given previous disciplinary actions. One wonders if he will learn his lesson.

Uruguay soccer officials said Wednesday there was no lesson to learn.

In an effort to fend off the lengthy ban, they said the marks on Chiellini's shoulder were Photoshopped, according to the Guardian. The photos were altered to make them look worse, they claimed. So Chiellini has "a scratch on one shoulder," Suarez's lawyer said. Suarez had a "bruised and an almost closed eye."

Their effort failed. But what do you think? Is the punishment fair? Was Suarez picked on? Let us know in the comments below.
