The NFL draft will be held May 8-10, giving former USC receiver Marqise Lee about eight more weeks to prepare for the next stage of his career.

Lee, projected as a possible first-round draft pick, participated in USC’s pro day workout on Tuesday but did not run the 40-yard dash. The 2012 Biletnikoff Award winner was timed in 4.52 seconds at the NFL scouting combine last month in Indianapolis.

After he completed his workout Tuesday, Lee said there was some “stage fright” at the combine.

He appeared relaxed during his workout at USC.

“The main thing I really tried to focus on was my position drills,” he said. “Getting in and out of breaks, catching the ball no matter where it’s at — just showing them that I still got that in me.”

Lee said he performed 11 reps in the 225-pound bench-press test — but could have done more.

“My arms gave out,” he said, chuckling, “but in my head I knew had three more in me.”

Lee said he was satisfied with his workouts and interviews with NFL personnel at the combine and at pro day.

He sounded happy to have the testing portion of the process behind.

“It’s back to doing straight football work,” he said.
