Marshawn Lynch was direct and honest when speaking during Super Bowl XLIX media day Tuesday in Phoenix.
"Hey, I'm just here so I don't get fined," the Seattle Seahawks star running back said as he started his time at the podium, "so y'all can sit here and ask me all the questions y'all want to, I'm gonna answer with the same answer. So y'all can shoot if y'all please."
And that's just what he did. No matter what he was asked, no matter who asked the question, Lynch responded with "I'm just here so I won't get fined."
He was very friendly about it. He didn't interupt anyone. Smiled the whole time. Listened attentively to each question and responded directly to the person asking it, "I'm just here so I won't get fined."
Lynch, who was fined $100,000 this season for not adhering to the league's media regulations, even gave the same treatment to a little kid who posed a question, although he also saluted the boy three times.
Same with NFL Network's Deion Sanders, who tried several times but did receive a promise from Lynch that they would talk later.
He greeted a few people, waved, gave thumbs up, called one woman sexy ... and when five minutes were up, Lynch yelled "Time!"
And it was over.
