Watch Michael Jordan sink a 50-foot chip shot at celebrity tournament

Share

Michael Jordan may have a thing or two to learn about being a gracious host.

I’ve never held my own celebrity golf tournament before (I think you have to be a celebrity and at least know how to hold a golf club before they let you throw one of those shindigs), but I’m pretty sure Rule No. 1 would be not to show up your guests.

You know how celebrities can be with their large egos (I don’t happen to know any, but that’s what I assume).

But, you know, MJ being MJ, he just couldn’t help himself this weekend during the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.

Check out Jordan’s 50-foot chip shot from the rough on the 17th hole. Not too shabby.

Seems to have been the highlight from the event, although not enough to help Jordan and celebrity partner Dwight Freeney. They had to settle for a third-place tie with Stuart Scott and John Smoltz at four-under, behind Brian Urlacher and Roger Clemens’ nine-under and Eric Dickerson and Ozzie Smith’s five-under.

So I guess he didn’t embarrass all those stars too badly after all. And Jordan came out looking pretty good as well.
