Safety was the NFL’s focus this off-season.

The focus on Sunday?

Safeties.

There were three of them in the first quarters of games Sunday, with the New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars each picking up two points.

The Jets scored when Tampa Bay’s Josh Freeman fumbled out of the end zone.

The safety for the Steelers came when Tennessee running back Darius Reynauld was tackled in the end zone.

And Jacksonville scored when J.T. Thomas blocked a punt out of the back of the end zone.
