Raiders get their first three interceptions of the season
It was a great Sunday night for the Oakland Raiders, who collected five San Diego turnovers in a 27-17 victory over the Chargers.
The Raiders, who came into the game without an interception all season, picked off Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers three times, including an end-zone interception by rookie cornerback D.J. Hayden.
Hayden stepped in front of a pass intended for fellow rookie Keenan Allen.
“He made a great play,” Rivers conceded. “If we went out there and ran the play again, I’d throw it just where I threw it. I didn’t see him. I was focused on [defensive back Charles] Woodson there, and I had him where I wanted him, and I didn’t see [No.] 25.”
