Brewers fan changes ‘Braun’ to ‘Fraud’ on shirt, asked to leave game

It appears some Milwaukee Brewers staff are a little sensitive about star outfielder Ryan Braun accepting a 65-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s drug policy.

A Brewers fan says she was asked to leave Miller Park on Wednesday night after she modified the name “Braun” on the back of her Brewers shirt to “Fraud.”

Karen Eidem says a security guard told her the modified shirt violated the team’s fan code of conduct. She only was allowed to stay after she agreed to wear the shirt inside out.

The Brewers later said in statement that security staff should not have asked Eidem to leave the game and offered her a ticket to another game, according to WTMJ-AM in Milwaukee.

“A lot of fans complimented me on the jersey,” Eidem said in an interview with the Associated Press. “It was all meant in good fun. It wasn’t meant to be derogatory.”

It’s good to see the Brewers make amends with a fan who had every right to display her displeasure over Braun’s recent admission into the tainted hall of fame. Baseball teams had better get used to fans who are sick and tired of seeing players cheat.
