It has only been two games, but Stephen Jackson thinks he’s making strides to get where he wants to be.

Jackson, signed just three days ago, played 23 minutes against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night and 12 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night.

He has scored two points in those first two games.

He is one-for-eight from the field, 0-for-6 from three-point range.

Jackson took extra shots Saturday at the Verizon Center after the rest of the Clippers left following the team’s shoot-around in preparation for the game Sturday night against the Washington Wizards.

Jackson, whom the Clippers signed to a contract Wednesday because of their need for a backup small forward behind starter Jared Dudley, says his conditioning has improved.

“Every day my legs are feeling better and I’m doing things I know I can do,” Jackson said. “It’s going to be a week or two before I get there. But I’m pushing myself.”
