ESPN’s Stuart Scott announces that he has cancer

ESPN anchor Stuart Scott announced on Twitter on Monday night that he is battling cancer for the third time.

“Blessed by prayers..I’m back in the Fight. C reared its head again. Chemo evry 2 wks but I’ll still work, still work out..still #LIVESTRONG”

Scott was first diagnosed with the disease in 2007 when doctors discovered he had cancer of the appendix while performing an appendectomy. He underwent chemotherapy and all was well until 2011, when he revealed that doctors found tumors in his small intestine. After an operation and more chemo, he remained cancer-free until Monday’s announcement.

There was no word on where the cancer was found this time.

After announcing the news on Twitter, Scott received a flood of tweets wishing him the best, to which he responded:

“Thanks for prayers..ill fight w ALL C survivors & loved ones. Cancer wants to re-appear..picked the right guy cuz I HIT HARD all day long!!”
