UCLA football: Anthony Barr is a semifinalist for Bednarik Award
Anthony Barr, UCLA’s All-American linebacker, is among the 16 semifinalists for the Bednarik Award, given to college football’s outstanding defensive player.
Barr, a senior, has had a meteoric rise since moving from receiver to linebacker last season. He had 13.5 sacks in 2012, the second most in the nation.
Barr has continued his dominance this season. He has six sacks and 13 tackles for a loss in seven
games.
The three finalists will be announced Nov. 25. The winner will be announced Dec. 12.
