USC football: Aundrey Walker working at guard

Aundrey Walker started last season at left tackle for USC.

But with redshirt freshman Chad Wheeler making a big impression during Walker’s absence because of injury last week, there could be a reshuffling of the Trojans’ offensive line.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Walker spent most of Sunday’s practice at right guard, where John Martinez started the last two seasons.

“It would not be a permanent thing right now,” Coach Lane Kiffin said of Walker’s move to guard. “This is the time of year you look at different things.”

Walker practiced at guard as a freshman. He got more time there Sunday because redshirt freshman Jordan Simmons was sidelined because of injury.

“We’re just trying to find the best guys, the best mixture of guys that will help us win the most games,” Kiffin said.
