USC receiver Marqise Lee continues to increase his workload as he comes back from a bone bruise in his right shoulder area.

Lee, wearing a yellow jersey to warn against contact from defensive players, used his injured right arm to swat blocking pads. He fielded kicks and also took part in seven-on-seven passing drills on Thursday.

Trainers pulled Lee near the end of the workout after he “kind of got banged up again,” Coach Lane Kiffin said.

Lee appeared to be practicing at full speed but did not look completely in sync.

“You can obviously see how fast he is and what a dynamic player he is," Kiffin said. "But at the same time we have some work to do timing-wise because he hasn't been out there.

"We had a couple deep balls we missed. Either the quarterbacks missed or ... he dropped two of them too. Like everybody, you’ve got to practice to get better."
