Poll: Can the U.S. advance out of its World Cup Group of Death?

The United States not only was placed in what most experts are calling the toughest group for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but the Americans will have an extra burden of logging the most miles -- nearly 9,000 -- during travel to their three games.

The U.S. will open Group G play on June 16 against World Cup nemesis Ghana, a team that has eliminated the Americans from play in the last two tournaments.

Then come matches against European powers Portugal on June 22 and Germany on June 26.

Neighboring Mexico didn’t get placed in a much easier pool, joining Group A with host Brazil, African power Cameroon and European power Croatia.
