Ka’imi Fairbairn went through the weigh-in and has sat for numerous interviews with NFL scouts during the first few days of Senior Bowl week.

Ultimately, when it comes to his NFL draft prospects, Fairbairn said, “what it all comes down to is kicking the ball straight.”

Fairbairn was an All-American for UCLA this past season, making 20 of 24 field-goal attempts, including one from 60 yards against California.

He is on the North team for the Senior Bowl, Duke’s Ross Martin the South. The game is Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

Fairbairn said former UCLA punter Jeff Locke, who plays for the Minnesota Vikings, and former Bruins kicker Kai Forbath, who plays for the New Orleans Saints, helped him prep for the draft process.

“They’ve been down the block a couple times,” he said. “They told me that preparation is key: Don’t do anything different and just be yourself.”
