Offensive lineman Ronald Rudd commits to UCLA’s 2017 recruiting class

Ronald Rudd, an offensive lineman from Chaney College, announced his commitment to UCLA on Monday.

Rudd is the second player to commit to the Bruins in the last week. Cathedral High defensive back Jeffrey Manning committed Wednesday.

“It was truly a blessing to even be offered a scholarship to play football at any of the universities that were recruiting me,” Rudd wrote on Twitter, adding that UCLA was the “best fit” for him.

It took Rudd just three days after UCLA made the offer for him to make his decision.

The 6-foot-7, 305-pound Rudd chose the Bruins among offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Colorado, Kansas State, Louisville, Memphis, Missouri and Washington State.

Rudd has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Offensive lineman Kanan Ray from Sierra Canyon and defensive linemen Jaelan Phillips from Redlands East Valley and Hunter Echols from Cathedral also have committed to UCLA’s 2017 recruiting class.
