Maybe Will Ferrell can be a stand in.

When USC introduces its 2015 Athletic Hall of Fame class on Saturday, its most recognizable member – former Coach Pete Carroll -- will be missing.

Despite a bye week for the Seattle Seahawks, Carroll will not be at the Coliseum for the halftime ceremony.

Carroll led USC to consecutive Associated Press national championships in 2003 and 2004. During his nine-year run as coach from 2001-2009, the Trojans won seven consecutive Pac-10 Conference titles.

Carroll left USC to coach the Seahawks in 2010. He led them Super Bowl title in February.

Carroll spoke to students in the USC Marshall School of Business weeks after the Super Bowl. He even surprised the audience with a guest appearance from Ferrell, a USC alum.

There are 16 members in USC’s 2015 Athletic Hall of Fame class. Carroll is expected to attend the induction dinner in May.
