USC recruiting: Several 2016 players get Trojan offers

Several recruits in the 2016 class tweeted that they received offers from USC over the last week.

“Blessed to say USC offered… #FightOn,” wrote Elijah Holyfield, a running back from Woodward Academy in College Park, Ga. Holyfield is the son of former boxing champion Evander Holyfield.

USC made offers to two tight ends in Pennsylvania, Cary Angeline and Naseir Upshur.

“BEYONDBLESSED to receive an offer from #USC,” Upshur wrote.

Safety Jaylon Jones and defensive lineman Justin Madubuike – both from Texas – also announced they had gotten offers from the Trojans.

Local offensive linemen Frank Martin from Santa Ana Mater Dei and Wyatt Davis from Bellflower St. John Bosco received offers.

Martin wrote that it was a “dream offer.”

Top player trims list

Fresno Clovis West linebacker Caleb Kelly, considered a top recruit in the 2016 class, narrowed his list of offers to 10 schools. USC did not make the cut.

Unofficial visit to practice

Mission Hills Alemany High players attended Thursday’s practice at USC.

Alemany running back Dominic Davis signed with the Trojans in February.

Trojans receiver Steven Mitchell played at Alemany.
