USC practiced early Sunday morning, providing Trojans coaches with as much time as possible before the clock strikes midnight and the recruiting contact period ends.

Immediately after practice, offensive coordinator Clay Helton, running backs coach Johnny Nansen and offensive line coach Tim Drevno headed to the airport to board a private plane bound for Texas.

Other USC coaches were scheduled to recruit in the Southland.

A 30-day dead period, when coaches cannot visit recruits, begins Monday.

Aca’Cedric Ware, a running back from Cedar Hill, Tex., committed to USC in July.

Missouri City (Texas) cornerback Kendall Sheffield officially visited in October.
