USC plays its spring game on Saturday. Here is what to watch for on defense.

Defensive line: Fans must wait until the fall to see how the line will perform without Leonard Williams. Multiple players, including Antwaun Woods, Greg Townsend Jr. and Kenny Bigelow, were sidelined or slowed this spring because of injuries.

Linebacker: Su’a Cravens made impressive plays in most practices, including two interceptions on Thursday. Lamar Dawson has returned after being sidelined more than a year because of a knee injury. Michael Hutchings and Olajuwon Tucker rotated at inside linebacker. Anthony Sarao was sidelined because of a foot injury.

Cornerback: Third-year starter Kevon Seymour was among the most improved. Adoree’ Jackson split time on offense and defense, but made his biggest plays at cornerback.

Safety: Chris Hawkins moved from cornerback and competed against Leon McQuay. John Plattenburg played through an ankle injury.
