Santa Ana Mater Dei offensive lineman Frank Martin discusses his commitment to USC and experience at the Opening.

Offensive lineman Frank Martin walked off the field exhausted after a three-hour session of one-on-one drills at the Opening.

Martin, of Santa Ana Mater Dei, said he’d never faced such strong competition. “It’s great to compete against the best, iron sharpens iron,” said Martin, who has committed to USC.

Martin said the best defensive linemen he faced were Penn State commit Shane Simmons of Dematha (Md.) Catholic and Dexter Lawrence of Wake Forest (N.C.) High, who is uncommitted -- with a USC offer.

Concord De La Salle defensive lineman Boss Tagaloa said Martin and Greg Little, who was once committed to Texas A&M, were the best offensive linemen he faced.

UCLA and Nebraska continue to recruit Martin, who said that the Huskers have asked him to make an official visit.

“But I’m still solid to USC,” Martin said.
