Receiver Tristan Payton of Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast High, who has committed to sign a letter of intent with USC, was named most valuable player of last weekend’s Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl at StubHub Center.

Payton caught three passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns, including a 58-yarder, in the East team’s 24-3 victory.

Payton pledged to USC in August. Four months later, he took an official visit to Louisville.
