Boys’ basketball: Birmingham stays unbeaten with 93-60 victory

Unbeaten Birmingham (5-0) took a little time off after winning the Redondo tournament, and now the Patriots are back in high gear after defeating Granada Hills Kennedy, 93-60, in a nonleague game on Monday night.

Devante Doutrive scored 23 points, Devonaire Doutrive had 21 points and Deschon Winston 17. The Patriots begin play in the Beverly Hills tournament on Tuesday.

Washington Prep knocked off Windward, 63-61, in the Beverly Hills tournament., Tawrence Shoffner scored 21 points. Beverly Hills defeated Hamilton, 35-32. Taft defeated Inglewood in overtime, 60-57, on a three at the buzzer by Kihei Clark. Here’s the link to the last shot. El Camino Real defeated Leuzinger, 72-52. Troy Biglow scored 22 points.

In the Sierra Canyon tournament, Camarillo defeated Crespi, 54-49. Brandon Adair scored 22 points. La Canada defeated Eagle Rock59-44. Sean Estes led the Spartans with 23 points. Alemany defeated Mission Prep, 78-51. DJ McDonald scored 25 points.

Riley Battin had 35 points in Oak Park’s 77-53 win over Chatsworth. Westlake defeated San Gabriel Academy, 63-47.

St. Francis opened with a 66-46 win over Price. Joey Walsh had 14 points and seven assists.

University defeated Banning, 92-44. Daisone Hughes scored 28 points. View Park Prep defeated North Hollywood, 65-36.

Heritage Christian defeated Santa Clara, 93-36. Juhwon Harris-Dyson finished with 14 points.

Van Nuys defeated RFK, 64-45. Tyree Winbord had 27 points.

St. John Bosco opened with an 81-45 win over Fullerton. Alpha Okoli had 20 points, JJ Watson 18 and Makani Whiteside 16.
