Boys’ basketball: No. 1 Chino Hills finishes regular season 27-0

Perfection. That’s what the Chino Hills basketball team accomplished during the regular season, putting the finishing touch on a 27-0 record on Thursday night after a 92-72 win over Etiwanda in a Baseline League game. LiAngelo Ball finished with 32 points.

Next up is the Southern Section Open Division playoffs. Pairings will be releaed on Friday at 3 p.m., and the Huskies are expected to be the No. 1 seed.

Damien finished second in the Baseline after a 99-71 win over Los Osos. Bryce Peters scored 26 points and Isaiah White 17 points. Rancho Cucamonga defeated Upland, 62-48.

Corona Centennial finished the regular season at 21-6 and 9-1 in the Big VIII League after a 93-54 win over Norco. Jordan Griffin scored 26 points and Jalen Hill 20. Roosevelt shared the league title with Centennial after a 55-35 win over Santiago.

In the Trinity League, Orange Lutheran finished in second place, thanks to a 69-68 victory over Santa Margarita in which the Lancers were without injured center KaVaughn Scott. Zac Jervis came through with 27 points and Joseph Riley 19 points. Kaden Rasheed and Adrease Jackson each had 22 points for Santa Margarita.

Servite defeated JSerra, 69-35. Anastasios Marcolpulos had 18 points and Pearson Parker 17. Mater Dei hung on for a 56-52 win over St. John Bosco. Spencer Freedman had 12 points and MJ Cage added 10 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks.

Santa Monica defeated El Segundo, 64-36, to finish 10-0 in the Ocean League. Jonah Mathews had 14 points. But the Vikings have lost center Danie Schreier for 10 days after a foot injury earlier in the week.

Highland defeated Eastside, 47-46. Deshay Gipson ahd 19 points and Justen Miller 17. Highland finished 13-1 and won the Golden League title.

In consolation games from the Gold Coast League, Viewpoint defeated Campbell Hall, 72-61. Christian Juzang scored 33 points. Jordan Cohen had 40 points for Campbell Hall. Brentwood defeated Crossorads, 59-56, in overtime. Dylan Horn scored 16 points and Braelee Albert 15.

Los Alamitos finished the Sunset League with a 10-0 record after a 77-55 win over Marina.

Trinity Classical defeated Lancaster Baptist, 61-51. Ian Caddow had 25 points.

Santa Clarita Christian defeated Valley Torah, 79-59, with Bryce Wilkinson scoring 30 points.

La Mirada won the Suburban League with a 73-63 win over Cerritos. Vittorio Reynoso-Avila, in his first game back after a foot injury sidelined him all season, scored 12 points.

Bonita pulled off the biggest upset of the night, defeating Ayala, 82-81, in overtime. Miles President had tied the game at the end of regulation with a three-pointer for Ayala. Joe Quintana won it for Bonita with a three at the buzzer in overtime. John Edgar scored 34 points for Ayala. Joe Quintana had 38 points for Bonita.

Hart finished unbeaten in the Foothill League after a 61-44 win over Valencia. Chad Donohoe had 19 points. West Ranch defeated Golden Valley, 59-56. Canyon defeated Saugus, 62-37.

In the Marmonte League, Calabasas (21-6, 9-1) won the league title after a 47-36 victory over Agoura. Jack Roggin finished with 16j points. It was victory No. 400 for Coach Jon Palarz. Westlake defeated Oaks Christian, 58-51. Hunter Gettings had 19 points and Drew Brackens 17. Max Heidegger led Oaks Christian with 24 points.

San Clemente won the South Coast League title with a 59-46 win over Dana Hills. Cole Fotheringham had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Lynwood (9-1) won the San Gabriel Valley League title with a 53-33 win over Warren.

Tarbut V’Torah defeated Ribet, 56-50. Brandon Averitt had 18 points.
