Two players from Vista Murrieta's football team have been arrested on suspicion of sex crimes. The arrests were first reported by the Riverside-Press Enterprise.
Both are 17, according to John Hall, a spokesman for the Riverside County district attorney's office.
One player is charged with two counts of forcible rape involving two victims, two counts of lewd acts with a girl under 14 and three counts of imprisonments involving three additional victims, Hall said. There's also a charge of dissuading a victim from reporting a crime.
The other 17-year-old is facing "sex-related charges," Hall said.
Vista Murrieta Coach Coley Candaele said both players were removed from the team before the season and have not played.Vista Murrieta is 2-0 this season and ranked No. 5 by The Times.
