INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Colts
signed former Elkhart Central wide receiver Nathan Palmer off the San Francisco 49ers practice squad today after placing Austin Collie
on injured reserve.
Palmer graduated from Elkhart Central High School in 2007, where he earned first-team all-state honors.
Palmer signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2012. He was waived on August 31 before being signed to the 49ers practice squad a day later. Palmer played at Northern Illinois, where he caught 93 passes for 1,575 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also rushed for 200 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.
