So, you're back
Ephram and Amy chat after Irv and Edna's wedding reception. He tells her he'll be sticking around Everwood. Amy's friendly with him, but she's also guarded. She tells him she'll see him around.

Tension at home
Ephram and Andy aren't exactly on the same page about his future plans. Ephram wants Andy to cough up money for him to move in with Bright and figure out school, but Andy wants Ephram to have a clearer plan for what's next. Ephram is furious and stalks off. Poor Delia's stuck in the middle.

Three dates and you're out!
Bright and Hannah are on their second date and things seem to be going well... until the diner waitress, who appears to know Bright, treats him rudely. Bright's dismissive about it, telling Hannah that he only dated the waitress twice, and besides, he has a three-date rule -- he always breaks it off after three dates, max. Hannah is horrified.

A blowoff?
Bright calls Hannah the next day with big plans. He's got tickets to her favorite band! But Hannah, knowing this is the pivotal third date, backs out with a lame excuse. Reid overhears the call and sees Bright looking perplexed. "I think I've just been blown off," he says. "That's never happened to be before."

Sam's opens
Nina and Jake host a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new place, Sam's. Bright and Ephram catch up there. Bright tells Ephram that he thinks Hannah's blowing him off. Meanwhile, Andy stops by to talk to Nina about his Ephram concerns.

From one Abbott to another...
Hannah tells Amy about her Bright worries. Amy's response, "Well, you know my brother's an idiot." Thanks a lot, Amy! Hannah continues to stress.

Delia at the diner
Since there's so much tension at home between Ephram and Andy, Ephram and Delia hang out at the diner where Amy works. Delia notices that Amy and Ephram aren't exactly acting like the best of friends, but Ephram's dismissive of her comments and tells her that of course, he and Amy are still close.

Talk to me
Bright goes to see Hannah to find out what's up. She opens up a little, but it's still awkward between them -- especially when she tells him she's not a "sacrificial virgin." Bright: "All I heard was virgin?!" Hannah's even more freaked out now -- still, she does agree to go out on another date with him.

Confrontation
At home, Ephram and Andy have another fight when Andy finds out Ephram pulled Delia out of school to see him at the diner. Ephram snaps back that he's not exactly welcome at home, either. Once again, Ephram storms out of the house.

The third date
Bright and Hannah's date is going terribly. They're both totally awkward. Finally, they talk about it and Hannah tells Bright that things are different now that they're dating. They'll have to learn to open up slowly. Bright has something to say to her, but he's not sure if it'll be too much too soon. She encourages him to tell her -- and he says that he never wanted a fourth date before. But now he does! And he shows her with a very sweet kiss.

Let's make a deal
At home, Andy has come to a solution to his Ephram problems. He tells Ephram that he can move in with Bright, but Andy'll give him $50 for every dinner he has at home. That way, they'll still be a family, Ephram can have money (but with strings attached), and Delia won't be caught in the middle. For now, father and son seem to have come to an understanding. Ephram accepts.

I'm over it
Ephram stops by the diner where Amy's closing up. He wants to know where they stand. There are so many unresolved issues. Should they just go back to being friends? "We never were friends," says Amy. Ephram has no idea what to do next. He asks if she's over him. "No, I'm not over you," says Amy. "But I'm over it." "It" being the worries, the stress, the distance. She doesn't want to deal with it anymore. Slightly shocked, Ephram leaves.
