‘Eli Stone’s’ Natasha Henstridge is selling in Sherman Oaks

Natasha Henstridge is one of those actresses who, when she enters a room, becomes its center. Call it presence, perhaps. It would seem that her Sherman Oaks traditional, now on the market for $1.75 million, has some of the same quality.

The 3,825-square-foot house, which sits on half an acre, has views of the San Fernando Valley. There are five bedrooms and five bathrooms and an entertainment deck. It also has a formal dining room, plus hardwood floors and high-beamed ceilings throughout the public areas. There is a pool and a pool deck area down a flight of steps from the main house.

Henstridge, 34, plays lawyer Taylor Wethersby on ABC’s quirky comedy-drama “ Eli Stone.” She appeared in the TV miniseries “Would Be Kings” in 2008 and “Impact” the same year. In 2005-06, she appeared in “Commander in Chief” as Jayne Murray, and she played Cassie McBain in “She Spies” from 2002-04. Henstridge was a top model before switching to acting.

Severing ‘Ties’ with a traditional

Remember when the credits rolled and dogs across America heard the command, “Sit, Ubu, sit.” Did you ever wonder: Who, exactly, is this Ubu? Turns out that Ubu was the black Labrador companion-muse of Gary David Goldberg, the prolific Emmy award-winning writer and creator of iconic TV shows such as “Family Ties” and “Spin City.” Goldberg has listed his Brentwood home at $19,995,000.

Built in 1942, it has 6,908 square feet and features eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The traditional estate sits on about 3 acres and has a long, gated driveway leading to a circular motor court and a three-car garage with chauffeur’s quarters. There is a media room, sunroom, library, wine cellar and a two-bedroom staff wing. There is a pool, cabana and pool house, a cascading waterfall with koi pond and towering palm trees.

Two-time Emmy winner Goldberg, 64, was the executive producer of 145 episodes of “Spin City” from 1996 to 2002 and 175 episodes of “Family Ties” from 1982 to ’89. He produced, directed and wrote the screenplay for the 2005 movie “Must Love Dogs.”

W.A.S.P. singer lists Malibu nest

Blackie Lawless, the heavy-metal singer for W.A.S.P., has listed his Malibu home at $1,749,000.

The house is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom retreat of 1,100 square feet on almost 3 acres. The main house has an outdoor barbecue area and a “wine cave,” according to the Multiple Listing Service. A rock wall winds through the property, which is next to hiking trails. Lawless is moving to a larger property he owns.

One of Lawless’ trademarks during the band’s stage performances is to mount a 1,000-pound metal sculpture, which doubles as a microphone stand. The 52-year-old musician is the remaining original shock rocker of W.A.S.P., which formed in 1982. In the mid-1980s, the band drew the ire of the Parents Music Resource Center -- a group led by Tipper Gore, wife of then-Sen. Al Gore, that pushed for warning labels on records.

Peete hopes for a house handoff

Former USC and NFL quarterback Rodney Peete knows a thing or two about completions. Now the question is: Can he complete a real estate sale?

The former football star and his actress wife, Holly Robinson Peete, have listed their Beverly Hills home for $4.25 million.

The contemporary Mediterranean has six bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms. Built in 1988, the home sits at the end of a long, gated driveway. The living room has high ceilings and three sets of doors opening to the backyard. A large kitchen flows to the outdoor entertainment area. There is a fireplace and bar in the state-of-the-art media room.

Peete played NFL ball for 16 years, including stints on the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders and Carolina Panthers. After leaving the NFL, he became a host on the Fox Sports Net show, “Best Damn Sports Show Period.” He co-hosts “Meet the Peetes” with Robinson Peete on XM Radio.

Peete proposed to his wife on bended knee in front of a studio audience watching the taping of Robinson Peete’s “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.”

Robinson Peete, whose dad, Matt, was a TV writer and the original Gordon on “Sesame Street,” played Vanessa Russell for 38 episodes of “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper” from 1992 to ’97. She also starred in 34 episodes of “For Your Love” from 1998 to 2002 and 23 episodes of “Like Family” in 2003-04. She played Jackie Jameson in the 2007 TV movie “Football Wives.” Additionally, she wrote two books, “Get Your Own Damn Beer, I’m Watching the Game!: A Woman’s Guide to Loving Pro Football” (2005) and “Proud Hands” (2007), a tribute to her father.

He says bye-bye to bachelor pad

Update: Ashton Kutcher sold his pre- Demi Moore bachelor pad for $3.67 million. The deal on the Beverly Hills-area house closed this week. It had been listed for $3.7 million.
