It’s the Year of the Dog. Here are must-have items for every top dog and underdog in your life

Let’s celebrate our dear canine companions this Chinese New Year, which starts Friday. After all, it’s the Year of the Dog. Few other Chinese zodiac animals — certainly not the snake, rooster, ox or rat — are cuddlier than the dog. Lucky for us dog-friendly Angelenos, designers and brands have been creating doggy goods that allow us to show our love for our four-legged besties.

“Dogs only want to make you happy, and they remind us how important kindness and unyielding love is,” says New York-based jewelry designer Suzanne Mates, who creates blingy canines for her diamond-dog jewelry line for humans, Ellie Rocks NYC. “The best qualities of dogs are that they are truly your best friend.”
